Productes Quimics Naturals S.L. (PROQUINAT) was founded in 1995 as a manufacturer and distributor of all kinds of waxes and paraffins for the chemical industry, paper, candles, cosmetics and wood, among others.
We are one of the leading suppliers of waxes and paraffins in southern Europe and North Africa.
Our experience of more than 25 years, the strategic location of our factory and the expertise of the products and the final market are key to the development of PROQUINAT.
PROQUINAT is founded as a small chemical commercial, specializing in natural waxes, paraffins and microcrystalline waxes.
PROQUINAT achieves its first major goal: a sales volume of 1,000 tons.
PROQUINAT, in joint venture with Gequímica Brasil, constitutes the new society Gewax Europe, dedicated to the commercialization of microcrystalline waxes of Petrobras in Europe.
It takes the first step in its expansion process by acquiring a factory, located in Fornells de la Selva (Girona), where the manufacturing, handling and refining processes of natural, synthetic and paraffin waxes are initiated.
Due to the increase of business, PROQUINAT expands its staff and acquires new offices in Badalona, where it is currently headquartered.
We sold over 4.000 tons. Also grows the volume of purchase of natural waxes (250 tons of beeswax and 100 tons of carnauba wax).

PROQUINAT celebrates its 25th anniversary by serving on a regular basis more than 120 customers from 15 countries in Spain, Europe and the rest of the world. In 2001, a major internationalization process was launched which it increased international sales to reach 50% of total turnover by 2020.
